The 5 Best Bars in Perth
How We Picked the Best Bars in Perth
Cost
Aside from affordability, the costs of their food, drinks, and services must be worth the price. This was also compared with other bars in Perth.
Menu
We looked at the assortment of the bars’ food and beverages, as well as their delivery options if any.
Service
The services were reviewed based on their variety and the servers’ promptness.
Communication
Their staff should be available in case of questions or clarifications. They should also be polite and helpful throughout the experience.

Pros
- Open 6 days a week
- Location is packed with upcycled materials and a vintage feel
- Has various classic and modern cocktails and jaffles
- Offers weekly specials
- Delivers 3 days a week
Cons
- May be pricier than some bars
- Some deliveries need a 3-day waiting time
- May have a limited amount of drinks
Foxtrot Unicorn is among our favourite bars in Perth for good booze and an overall contemporary drinking experience!
Now, while their interior doesn’t have a unique theme per se, they’re packed with upcycled materials and vintage Western Australian hospitality.
It was amazing that this bar has an assortment of fine spirits, classic and modern cocktails, an eclectic wine list, and some fancy jaffles or closed-toasted sandwiches.
But, only limited amounts of independent booze come to them, so these may run out fast during peak hours. If you’re attached to a particular brand, we suggest coming in early so you don’t miss out.
Additionally, there are varying weekly specials. In the past, they had dishes such as bolognaise, chicken pot pie, pig rillette, and caramelised onions. We think this is an added incentive for returning customers and keeps the experience at this bar fresh.
But while this bar is open 6 days a week from 4 or 5 pm onwards, note that they’re closed on Sundays.
We also like that they do deliveries so prospects and regulars can easily enjoy their booze at home. This bar’s normal delivery days are Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
The cocktails they deliver are priced from $17 to $80 (5 packs). These are pricier than many Perth bars since additional delivery costs exist.
However, clients are sometimes asked to allow a 3-day leeway for delivery within the metro area.
Their location has several entrances, but only one leads to Foxtrot Unicorn. You’ve found the right spot when you see a brass plate engraved ‘M’ on the wall.

Pros
- Thrilling password-protected entry process
- Ever-expanding portfolio for multiple venues
- Regularly offers specials
- Available eVouchers
Cons
- Clueless prospects can’t enter without the password
- eVouchers only last for 6 months
Somewhere in Chinatown, Northbridge, lies the dimly-lit, prohibition rum bar Sneaky Tony’s. It’s one of our recommended bars in Perth due to its cosy ambience.
Moreover, true to their name, Sneaky Tony’s is uniquely known for their hidden location. We advise checking their social media page for the password first before visiting.
Their thrilling entry process attracts many curious customers! A previous patron shared their experience: they had to look for a steel door surrounded by graffiti, press the buzzer, wait for a click, and then push to get in.
They have an ever-expanding portfolio as well. Besides Sneaky Tony’s, they have multiple venues from the same founder – Mexican cantina La Cholita, Joe’s Juice Joint, country bar Alabama Song, and cocktail garden bar and restaurant Henry Summer.
We like their philosophy of creating fun and welcoming venues that teleport visitors to different times or eras.
On their website, prospects may conveniently subscribe to their calendar. This helps customers see whenever they’ll offer special deals at Sneaky Tony’s or their other venues.
Other than that, you can celebrate special events at Sneaky Tony’s since they host private parties, reservations, and events for 8 people or more.
Customers may also choose an eVoucher to be emailed to the recipient or a gift card printed on a stock delivered via standard post, ranging from $25 to $1,000. Keep in mind that these vouchers are valid at all their establishments for only 6 months.

Pros
- Good wine food, spirits, cocktails, and coffee
- Pet-friendly alfresco area
- Available e-gift cards
- Refundable $100 deposit
Cons
- Requires a $100 booking deposit
- A bit small in size
- Don’t have a phone number
Frisk is one of our top options for relaxing late-night neighbourhood bars in Perth. It’s a bit small but comfortable for a few drinks and snacks.
It’s located up the Russell Square end of Francis Street. Outside the bar’s footpath are also several tables, benches, and chairs under shady umbrellas.
Good wine food, other premium spirits, cocktails, and locally-roasted coffee are also available.
Pet owners would also be happy with their pet-friendly and accommodating alfresco area.
Booking with family, friends, or colleagues can be catered to as well. The minimum is for 12 people while the maximum is for 100.
Just note that this bar requires a $100 deposit to secure the booking. While the bar says this can be refundable, it’s best to contact them early if you’re cancelling to avoid any hassle.
It was great that clients may choose their preferred function requirements such as a grazing table filled with various meat, cheese, fruits, dips, and more. The exclusivity of bar usage is also considered.
But currently, they don’t have a phone number for direct reach. Some clients also shared that the staff can be dismissive, although this is rare.
If desired, Frisk e-gift cards are available at $25, $50, $100, $500, or a custom amount.

Pros
- Roomy and pleasant bars
- Can cater to around 70 to 120 people
- Customers can book and work with their events coordinator
- Accommodating to refunds
Cons
- Open only 4 days a week
- Not a lot of food options
Helvetica is one of the bars in Perth that’s popular with many cocktail and whiskey enthusiasts.
This bar is open from Wednesday to Saturday from 3 pm onwards. But, their Sunday to Tuesday schedules require a reservation for functions and events.
Apart from alcoholic beverages, they also offer some light snacks. This includes olives, mixed nuts, warm bread, charcuterie boards, cheese platters, and the like.
There aren’t a lot of food options, but these choices at least work well with their drinks.
The usual bookings they accept are anything from birthdays, engagement parties, corporate functions, and various celebrations.
We like the dim lights and dark hardwood floors that set the scene for their ground-floor bar. It’s also roomy and pleasant for patrons and bartenders.
On the other hand, the private lounge upstairs is quieter and more intimate.
In addition, this lounge can cater to 70 people. But if you want the entire venue, it’s quite impressive that it can accommodate up to 120.
Customers can bring their own decorations and music for private events. They can also work with the events coordinator to be reassured that all requirements are met.
However, some clients encountered problems regarding their dietary requirements. There were also a few instances when the staff had mix-ups with the orders.
Still, Helvetica is accommodating about refunds when their customers are less than satisfied.
5. Wolf Lane

Pros
- Fairytales inspire their beverage themes
- Hosts cocktail masterclasses
- Provides no to low-alcohol drinks
- Using the app can provide a free $10 credit
- Offers happy hour specials
Cons
- Few food options
- Masterclasses get sold out quickly
- Some customers think they’re a bit overpriced
If fairytales interest you, Wolf Lane is one of our highly-recommended bars in Perth to try out.
Besides fruity teapots and flaming marshmallow-topped cocktails, customers may also explore delectable delights inspired by the likes of Hansel and Gretel.
They have a good selection of boutique beers, local and international wines, cocktails, and spirits. Or, if you’re looking for an alcohol-free option, we appreciate that they provide no to low alcohol ranges as well.
Their menu offers some snacks and substantial bites. This consists of ham and cheese toasties, roasted veggies, a vegan option, and salted popcorn.
It was amazing that they host cocktail masterclasses too. This costs $59 per person by day and night, respectively.
We appreciate that each masterclass has a particular theme – Harry Potter, Narnia, Wizard of Oz, Little Mermaid, and the like. Each theme influences the different cocktails you’ll learn to make by yourself.
Gift vouchers are also available and can be redeemed on their cocktail masterclass of choice. The cost starts from $60 per purchase.
However, some classes get sold out quickly, so it’s best to book early.
We also like their Happy Hour specials every Friday from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm. They give 50% off selected cocktails via Mr Yum or mobile app payment.
Nevertheless, some customers thought they lacked better lighting. A few also felt their food and drinks were a bit overpriced.
Wolf Lane is also only available from Thursdays to Saturdays from 4 pm onwards. But while waiting for another Thursday, clients may use their app to claim free $10 credit.
This is valid for food and beverage purchases at over 180 venues around Australia.
