How We Picked the Best Auction Houses in Perth
Years of experience and other recognitions were considered to measure credibility.
We looked at the selection of the auctioned items and their availability.
The services were reviewed based on the variety and sufficiency of the staff, valuation, bidding processes, and more.
Their staff should be accessible in case of questions or clarifications. They should also be knowledgeable and helpful throughout the service.
1. WA Art Auctions
Services: Fine Art
Address: 8 Reliance Cl, Ocean Reef WA 6027, Australia
Contact Details: +61 8 9300 4814
Operating Hours: Monday – Sunday: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM

WA Art Auctions is one of the auction houses in Perth we recommend for art enthusiasts and collectors.
It’s incredible for us that they can assist with all kinds of fine art items. This includes a bunch of bronzes, sculptures, ceramics, and decorative items.
We like that they can provide a free valuation for any item you want to be auctioned. All you have to do is give them a call or send them an email.
In our opinion, it’s advisable to send them an email to ensure that your message has enough information. It has to be complete with signatures, notations, or labels, as well as size, medium, and any known history.
Doing so helps them get back to you efficiently within 24 hours.
For us, buyers would also have an easier time with their variety of payment terms. This includes paying via Stripe, PayPal, EFT, Visa, AMEX, and Mastercard.
However, note that they only do internet-timed auctions that run for 14 days. In addition, these are held on the Invaluable platform, which is one of the largest globally.
The items will get full international coverage and be seen by the broadest possible audience. We believe you have to act fast since there’s a lot of competition for you to get your desired item.
Still, WA Art Auctions is open every day, so we suggest taking this time to research and bid for unique finds.
2. Donelly’s Specialist Auctioneers
Services: Antique Selling
Address: 328 Walcott St, Menora WA 6050, Australia
Contact Details: +61 8 9443 5367, firstname.lastname@example.org

Donelly’s Specialist Auctioneers is among our top auction houses in Perth, best known for their antiques, on-site house clearances, large estates, and collections.
We love their extensive selection of old furniture and collectibles. Many are original works of art or limited edition signed original prints, as well as mid-century furniture and collectibles, jewellery, Aboriginal artefacts, and others.
Nonetheless, to enter items in auction, a minimum consignment estimate of $2,000 is required. All items must be properly sighted by them before inclusion.
They also require private sellers to include up to 10 clear photographs of items you wish for them to consider. We think you’ll have to make time and use a quality camera to meet this requirement.
For us, it’s also helpful that they determine whether deceased estates and antiques would benefit from an ‘on-site’ auction. They seem hands-on as they’ll visit each home or room, giving the client an indication of current market prices and how to best promote the family’s estate.
Plus, their transport team offers packing household items, collectibles, artworks, and more. We believe this saves their clients money and effort in the process.
If you have any queries, the office of Donelly’s Specialist Auctioneers is open Mondays through Fridays from 9 am to 4 pm. Still, they may not always be open to the public, so we suggest filling out their contact form prior to making a visit.
3. Auction Recyclers Perth

Auction Recyclers Perth is one of our favourites for your next auction in Perth because they’re among the largest commercial salvage businesses in the city.
We like that they can come to the client’s premises, dismantle, and remove all types of commercial items. This involves office furniture, machinery, transportable buildings, building materials, scrap metals, and so on.
In our opinion, this makes them ideal for small businesses and multinational companies. Furthermore, their valuation team has over 40 years of industry experience, so we feel confident in their accuracy and technical knowledge.
This company also told us that all valuation services would be performed in strict confidence – you won’t have to worry about any of your competitors getting any private information.
It’s impressive to us that they have more than 7,000 square metres of display area as well. There are tons to choose from, but some buyers told us that several second hand items are more expensive than they expected.
For deliveries, just note that their delivery vehicles can be too big. To avoid any hassle, we recommend checking if their team will have safe and easy access to the delivery address or right next to it.
Auction Recyclers Perth is open Monday through Friday during regular business hours if you’re interested. We found out that they used to be open on Saturdays too, but have closed on this day temporarily.
4. GFL Fine Art

GFL Fine Art is another auction house in Perth worth considering. They offer both live and timed auctions, depending on your needs.
Incredibly for us, they provide such a wide range of services. This consists of fine art auctions, appraisals, valuations, private treaty sales, collection management, post-sale services, restorations, and more.
Unlike some other auction houses in the city, they also accept items valued at less than $200. For us, this shows that they care about every piece of art, regardless of its monetary value.
Still, you have to make an appointment to use their written valuation services so they can accommodate you.
In our opinion, bidders would have a seamless transaction with them because there are many ways to bid – in-person, by telephone, absentee, and online.
They have an international audience that recognises the quality of the Australian paintings they auction, too. For this reason, it’s best to decide on your preferred items early to prevent them from being acquired by someone else.
We also find it convenient that their art auctions in Perth take place at the Claremont Showgrounds’ Wilkinson Gallery. We think this location provides ease of access, ample space, and plenty of time for clients to view the items.
Yet, GFL Fine Art is open only 3 days a week, from Wednesdays to Fridays. Take advantage of their limited auction displays, so you won’t miss out on some remarkable pieces.
5. Sterling Wine Auctions
Services: Wine Auctions
Address: 27A Northwood St, West Leederville WA 6007, Australia

If you’ve been looking to add to your wine collection, Sterling Wine Auctions in Perth is another great choice.
Their auction system lets buyers from all over the world trade in live internet auctions. We like that registration is also free, so you can take a good look before making a bid.
Upon checking their display, we were in awe of their endless (or semi-endless) online entries – there are over 6,300 wines to choose from! Plus, they’ve conveniently sorted these items into several categories to help if you’re looking for something specific.
Some of these are Australian, Italian, Champagne, Bordeaux, whiskies, spirits, and so on. Prospects also have access to the most popular choices if desired.
However, we advise checking the notes for some of the wines, as some of these can affect your purchase.
For instance, a few wines may have slight label damage or be only available to local buyers. The quality of the wines depends on how they’re stored, so we think not every wine may be up to your standards.
According to several past buyers we talked to, it’s wise to do tons of research regarding the prices, too. It’s easy to overpay for something, but there could be a cheaper alternative option that you’ve overlooked.
Should you be interested, note that Sterling Wine Auctions is reachable 5 days a week, except on weekends.
