5 Best Dealers in Perth Where You’ll Find Trucks for Sale

How We Picked

Truck variety

We evaluated how many truck brands these shops have for sale and whether they have different trucks for different purposes.

Product quality

We also evaluated the quality of trucks these dealers sell to their customers. This also rates if they have the manpower and spare parts available to help customers should their trucks experience any issues.

Customer service

We rated the policies and protocols these dealers have in place when it comes to dealing with customers. We also evaluated if they can entertain questions over the phone or email.

Price fairness

The prices these dealers charge for their trucks must be reasonable for most people.

Pros

  • Wide range of Isuzu trucks available
  • Three dealerships in Perth
  • 80 years of selling and repairing Isuzu trucks
  • Excellent truck maintenance services

Cons

  • Slightly above-average prices
  • Too many customers

Major Motors is what I’ll recommend to those looking for a reliable dealer of Isuzu trucks. This dealership features some of the largest collections of Isuzu trucks I’ve ever seen here in Perth.

They sell different weight classes here, from the lighter N-series to the heaviest Isuzu FY-series of trucks.

What’s great about Major Motors is its accessibility. It has three major dealerships available in Perth, so you don’t have to travel far to have your Isuzu truck serviced.

Speaking of their service centres, this dealership offers one of the best Isuzu truck maintenance services in the city. A friend of mine works in construction, and he told me that his company is one of Major Motors’ most loyal customers.

He’s a driver for one of his company’s trucks. He told me that his truck is always running in good condition thanks to this dealership’s excellent yearly inspection services.

My guess is that experience is a big reason why Major Motors is so good with its services. This company has been in business for more than 80 years.

However, a downside to this dealership is its above-average prices. Most of the trucks and spare parts sold here are priced slightly higher compared to most truck dealers in Perth.

Another downside to Major Motors is that it has too many customers. Some customers shared with me that this dealership takes too long to entertain them because the staff can’t keep up with the demand.

Pros

  • Many dealerships in Western Australia
  • Truck rental service with extra features
  • Helpful and attentive staff

Cons

  • Expensive
  • Spare parts aren’t stocked regularly

CJD Trucks is an excellent choice if you’re looking for long-haul trucks. This dealership’s good selection of trucks and reliable service centres are what make it one of the best truck dealers for me.

A big reason why I mentioned long-haul is because of their great dealerships across WA.

You can rely on their mechanics to help you anywhere across the state because they have branches in most of WA’s major towns and cities. Some of their branches can be found in Perth, Kalgoorlie, Port Hedland, and more.

When it comes to the trucks themselves, CJD Trucks offers four popular truck brands: Kenworth, DAF, Isuzu, and Fuso. The trucks they sell are purposely-designed for long-haul services.

I checked out their dealership in Forrestfield to gather more information about their services. I am pleased to say that the staff in their Forrestfield branch are some of the most helpful people I’ve met.

They were eager to answer all of my questions.

Among all their services, what really caught my eye was their truck rental service. This rental service provides businesses with a reliable option for their logistical services.

The rental service has some awesome perks included, like 24/7 roadside assistance, truck inspection service, and truck washing.

However, a downside to CJD Trucks is their expensive prices. A lot of their trucks and spare parts are priced significantly higher compared to their competitors in Perth.

I am also quite disappointed to find out that the branch in Forrestfield doesn’t stock up on spare parts regularly.

3. Catalano Trucks

  • Isuzu

Pros

  • Competitive prices on spare parts
  • In-house truck financing service
  • Sells used trucks at very low prices

Cons

  • Communication issues
  • Some trucks have defects

Catalano Trucks is my pick for those looking to score a truck on a tight budget. This dealership is where you’ll find a great selection of second-hand trucks sold at very affordable prices.

What’s great about this dealership is its commitment to being a one-stop shop when it comes to trucks. Its service centre in Kenwick can help you with buying, maintaining, and even financing your truck purchase.

One offering that caught my attention is their in-house financing service. Catalano Trucks’ financing helps its customers secure loans from their financial advisors.

If you’re someone who’s not a big fan of loans, then don’t worry because, as I’ve said before, the trucks here are some of the cheapest in the city.

Their customer-friendly prices also extend to the spare parts they sell in their service centre. I found out that most of the parts they sell are cheaper compared to their competitors.

I think it’s because a lot of their parts are OEM or generic.

However, going cheap can cost you in some other way. Some customers told me that the second-hand trucks they bought here suffered from issues like rusty chassis and loose screws.

Another downside to Catalano Trucks is its lack of proper communication with its customers. One customer shared their disappointment with me when they found out that the truck they reserved was sold to someone else.

4. Truck Centre WA

Pros

  • Sells the latest truck designs on the market
  • 2-year warranty on all trucks
  • Friendly and professional staff
  • Uses only genuine parts for its maintenance services

Cons

  • Most trucks aren’t stocked regularly
  • Closed on weekends

Truck Centre WA is, in my opinion, a reliable partner for your truck needs. It’s one of the biggest truck dealerships in Western Australia, with a great selection of trucks, both new and used, on sale.

A great thing about this dealership is its impressive list of trucks made by renowned truck brands like Volvo. One of the newest trucks they offer is Volvo’s Electromobility, which is a medium-range truck running on electricity.

You can check out some of their trucks at any of their three dealerships in Perth. You’ll find these branches in South Guildford, Kewdale, and Forrestfield.

I checked out the one they have in South Guildford to learn more about their EV trucks. I am pleased to say that the staff in this branch were very welcoming and were more than happy to answer all of my questions.

The best thing I heard from their staff is Truck Centre WA’s 2-year warranty service. Their mechanics will work on your truck for free as long as it’s still within the warranty period and if its mileage is still below 500,000 kilometres.

Their truck maintenance and repair services also earn a thumbs-up from me because they only use genuine parts.

However, a downside to Truck Centre WA is it doesn’t regularly stock its trucks. Some of the trucks they feature on their website were absent during my visit to their South Guildford branch.

It’s also quite disappointing to learn that their shop is closed on weekends. Customers will have to wait until Monday if they want to buy a truck or have their trucks serviced in one of Truck Centre WA’s branches.

Pros

  • Wide range of trucks made for different industries
  • Offers training program to customers
  • Excellent repair services
  • Professional and friendly staff

Cons

  • Expensive call-out repair service
  • Poor response rate to calls

Penske Australia is another dealership I want to recommend for having one of the biggest selections of trucks sold in Perth. Its dealership in Hazelmere can provide you with trucks suitable for different purposes.

The trucks sold here aren’t limited to freight or long-haul logistics services. Some of their trucks are purpose-built for industries like waste collection, mining, and more.

Penske Australia knows that some of its trucks are too complicated to be handled by a beginner. To resolve this problem, their branch in Perth offers training programs to educate customers on how they should use their trucks.

I actually found out about their training programs through one of their staff members. I am pleased to say that these guys are super cool, and they were very helpful and explained to me their services and products well.

What customers love about Penske Australia, though, is its excellent maintenance services. They told me that the mechanics at this dealership are some of the best they’ve seen in the city.

However, some customers told me that while the repair service is great, it can be costly sometimes, especially when you use Penske’s on-call repair service.

Another downside to Penske Australia is its poor response rate to calls. Some customers complained that the branch in Perth seldom answers or returns their calls.
