If you’re after “local touch” and tenure, SNS Group is worth the gander. They’re 100% WA-owned and have been offering round-the-clock child, home, aged, and hospital care services for 30 years and counting.

You’ll hardly see them short-staffed either. Over 30,000 carers form their talent pool. Even with clients such as Alzheimer’s WA and People Who Care on their books, matching is typically quick.

Unfortunately, not all of their carers have glowing reviews. Some were flagged for being a tad “switched-off.”

It’d also be huge if virtual consults were offered. Both the phone lines and the physical office can get swamped.

But hey, their registered nurses continue to undergo training! No wonder clients we talked to called SNS’s staff reliable.

Them being NDIS providers is another strong point. Qualified clients enjoy personalised care for less, plus the status indicates they meet rigid compliance standards.

Alliance Nursing goes beyond WA. Combine that with their focus on quality vetting and rapid placement, and you’ve got an agency that checks the credibility box.

Their size makes them especially reliable. With a nationwide pool of 15,000 AHPRA-approved nurses, clients can get swiftly matched with enrolled, registered, and assistant nurses for temporary or permanent placements alike.

And similar to SNS, they’re a registered NDIS provider through Alliance Community (a sister agency). That means they also provide benefits like cheaper medical expenses, individualised plans, and independent living.

The downsides? Child care isn’t part of their offerings, and office operations shut down on the weekends.

What’s good is their stellar rep. Alliance is over 70 years old, with an Excellence in Safety Culture award (2020) to boot!

Mediserve’s flexibility caught our eye. For over 20 years, this agency has been placing qualified nurses in private/public health facilities, standard households, and aged care homes (like these excellent ones).

We found their services just as adaptable. In fact, some interviewees chose them for social and practical support, including companionship for outings or grocery trips.

That said, private nursing is arguably Mediserve’s most dependable and holistic service. Beyond clinical care (like that for dementia and wounds), they have nurses who can carry out light household chores and even personal grooming tasks.

It’s a shame they don’t run on weekends, though. Sure, email responses normally don’t drag on for weeks, but some names here can fire back replies on weekends (or at least on Saturdays).

Size is another hitch. Despite having 8 branches across Australia, Mediserve’s talent pool is far from stretching beyond thousands; fast pairings aren’t guaranteed.

It was Nurse Next Door (NND) that took care of my aunt, so I’m quite aware of their assets. For starters, the agency’s care team is bookable 24/7.

The matching process is also thorough. From what I’ve seen, they consider the client’s and carer’s personalities, schedules, and shared interests seriously.

And there are no lock-in contracts. Say your needs evolve, modifying the care arrangement is a phone call away.

Just note that they’ve had staffing bumps in the past, which led to cancellations and unwanted tweaks to scheduling.

Longevity isn’t their biggest draw either, if we’re strictly talking Perth. The Australian branches kicked off in 2018, so it’s newer than the decade-old firms featured on this list.

Good thing NND’s range is anything but short. Clinical, personal, and social assistance are offered across the board, most of which can be bent to fit one-hour or 24-hour coverage.

Booking is even made simpler by the user-friendly app. You can track everything there, including who’s available and what their specialities are.

Speaking of specialities, they’re not a one-trick pony, with nurses skilled in aged care, childcare, healthcare, and disability support (a service these NDIS-funded groups also have).

If it’s decades you’re after, though, there are better fits here. This agency was founded in 2020, so it’s the youngest company out of the bunch.

There’s also the slight chance of struggling to find a carer due to schedule conflicts, as Ahora’s nurses have the luxury of choosing their desired shifts.

On a more positive note, as of 2025, they have three ISO certifications (9001, 45001, 14001) and four Excellence in Customer Service awards (2022 to 2025), all bestowed by Australian Achiever.
