A refreshing personalised experience!

“A refreshing personalised experience! Tracy is very patient and took the time to note my face profile and offered advice for not choosing certain frames. I managed to choose some lovely frames that were quite different but good quality. Highly recommend paying extra to receive a fantastic service and quality frames and lenses.”

I have never seen glasses like these before

“I had an appointment with Tracy for some new eyewear. I found Tracy to be extremely professional and very knowledgeable about what is needed when it comes to new glasses. I was wearing a pair of boring, plain glasses. Tracy’s advice in respect to colours and styling was amazing. We designed a pair of custom glasses together which are absolutely beautiful. I have never seen glasses like these before. You can custom design glasses in respect to style and have a different coloured front and different arms – which look absolutely fabulous – there is no other word for it. Tracy has a very unique business and I highly recommend making an appointment to see Tracy if you are contemplating getting new glasses.”

If you’re a tradesman in need of protective eyewear, check out Safestyle Protective Eyewear. Founded in 2017, they’re one of the biggest manufacturers and suppliers in Perth when it comes to fashionable safety eyewear.

The number of designs they offer is quite impressive. They sell classic safety glasses, prescription options, polarised glasses, and anti-fog glasses. All of their designs pass the AS/NZS 1337.1 safety standards.

Aside from their cool designs, I also appreciate that they’ve made purchasing these glasses a bit easier thanks to their financing options. And since their eyewear products are sold by 133 retailers in Perth, like Atom and Rexel, it will be very easy for me to get one as a gift for my friend who works as a handyman.

My only issue with them is their slow delivery service. Some past customers had to wait weeks for their glasses.

Pros

  • Specialises in protective eyewear
  • Products pass AS/NZS 1337.1 safety standards
  • Products sold in 133 retailers in Perth
  • Offers financing options

Cons

  • Slow delivery service
  • No phone number

Wouldn’t look anywhere when it comes to safety glasses with style

“If there were more stars I would give SafeStyle a 10! Awesome customer service, they helped me out with the process of rectifying my prescription lenses due to a fault of my own. Not to mention the quality of the glasses are top notch! Wouldn’t look anywhere when it comes to safety glasses with style.”

Another store I’m seriously considering for my stylish eyewear is Bailey Nelson Optometrist. Located in the prestigious State Buildings, they offer a diverse range of prescription glasses and sunglasses.

One thing I should mention is that they manufacture these products themselves. They use advanced equipment and materials like CNC machines and acetate to produce high-quality eyewear. They also offer customisation options like lens thinning, tints, and blue light filters.

Moreover, they have financing options and they’re a registered provider with major health funds!

I also appreciate that they cover their products with a 12-month warranty.

However, it looks like they need to improve their customer service. Some of their former clients reported dismissive behaviour from their staff.

Pros

  • Offers customisation options
  • Offers financing options
  • Registered provider with major health funds
  • 12-month product warranty

Cons

  • Some dismissive staff
  • Sometimes cancels optometrist appointments

This city store is the best!

“This city store is the best! Very professional and helpful staff! I bought a pair of glasses but the frame was not quite fit and heavy. Normally I won’t bother to do a return. It’s glasses that you wear almost everyday. I went back and gave the feedback. The staff Emma and store manager kindly helped me to pick a new pair of glasses without making you feel pressured. They are not pushy at all. They always greet their customers and help as much as they can. There is no doubt that I highly recommend this store for all my friends and family to get their glasses from here. Keep up the good work!👍”

Wonderful place to shop for new glasses

“Wonderful place to shop for new glasses. Found the range of frames very good and not the usual range of generic ones. Service was fantastic and we got our glasses in less than a week. Lovely clear lenses. I can see clearly now as the song goes. Very happy and will go back when I need to replace our glasses. 100% recommend Bailey Nelson”

If you’re looking to bedazzle your friends with rare eyewear, check out SpexDesign Optometrist. This North Perth-based eyewear store sells a great mix of unique designer frames and sunglasses that are mostly made by luxury brand Balmain.

They even offer biometric lenses that are made by Rodenstock. Unlike your usual lenses, these ones are specifically tailored to a client’s eyes. They use a proprietary scanner to make hyper-accurate measurements of an eye.

And since this is an optometry clinic, they can also provide eye tests and myopia management services if needed.

However, given the uniqueness and luxury status of the eyewear products they provide, it’s no secret that they’re one of the pricier options I’ve included on this list.

Pros

  • Sells designer frames
  • Offers Rodenstock’s biometric lenses
  • Has optometry services
  • Excellent customer service

Cons

  • Expensive

Has an interesting selection of well designed eyewear

“Highly recommend this optometrist and eyewear store. Most thorough and professional optometrist I have ever been to. Told me more than I expected about my eye health, listened well and was very accommodating.

The store is well worth visiting as it has an interesting selection of well designed eyewear.

And the staff are very professional, attentive and friendly. They clearly care about quality customer service as they find and fix any mistakes quickly.”

It’s like walking into an art gallery for eyeglasses

“I absolutely wouldn’t go anywhere else! It’s like walking into an art gallery for eyeglasses. The service is excellent, they really have an “eye” for what suits you, the optometrist is so thorough and on point when testing your eyes too. Couldn’t recommend Spex Design enough! Thank you 🙏”

Founded in 1932, OPSM is one of the oldest eyewear stores I’ve included in this list. They’re also one of the more accessible options, as they have 20 locations across Perth.

They offer a wide range of eyewear, including prescription glasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses from top brands like Ray-Ban, Prada, and Oakley.

However, what truly makes them stand out for me is their impressive policies and deals. Here, you can enjoy free delivery and a 24-month manufacturer’s warranty on all your orders.

They also offer the Perfect Fit Promise, which provides customers with complimentary eyewear fitting and adjustment services. I’m also happy to see that they accept all health funds, including Bupa Health Insurance and HBF.

Sadly, customer service is one of their weakest areas. Some former customers were treated rudely by their staff. They also sometimes forget to respond to enquiries.

Pros

  • Sells designer frames
  • 20 locations in Perth
  • Free delivery
  • 24-month manufacturer’s warranty
  • Offers complimentary fitting and adjustments
  • Accepts all health funds

Cons

  • Some rude staff
  • Sometimes forgets to respond to enquiries

Good range of glasses to choose from

“OPSM consistently provides a hassle free experience, with professional and friendly service, a good range of glasses to choose from and honest advice about what lenses are appropriate to my needs.”

Best glasses and best experience for a person with VERY difficult eyes!

“Everything was PERFECT! Best glasses and best experience for a person with VERY difficult eyes! I have been to three different optometrists before for five pairs of glasses. Never have my lenses been so perfect! Last time (different optometrist) I had to spend a fortune for bifocal lenses because I’m short and long sighted, and have astigmatism. This time I have single lenses and yet somehow they’re PERFECT for short and long distances. It’s amazing!!!! I am so, so happy! Also the three ladies were SO friendly. The consultant who helped with my lenses was Judy and she was a great help since it’s usually so hard to find lenses to fit my small face (and she actually tried to find ones to fit my budget too, not sneakily trying to show me fantastic yet expensive ones). Ally was my optometrist and she was so sweet and explained my eyes better than anyone ever has before – she even showed me on the computer how my eyes interpret what I’m seeing which made it easier to understand. Thank you so much to the team, I would recommend this place to everyone, even on a student budget like me. It really was a delight to get my eyes checked (for once). I’m so happy with my glasses and have been getting so many compliments already on day one! Thank you!!!! :)”
