The Best Environmental Consulting Firms in Perth Helping Businesses Stay Green
Keeping the planet in one piece takes more than just recycling your cup. Just ask any landowner or entrepreneur, and they’ll likely tell you how sustainability regulations can turn a project into mountains of paperwork.
There’s also a good chance they’ll rave about environmental consultants. I mean, they tick the right boxes and help ensure projects are as eco-friendly as they are efficient.
Not everybody has one on speed dial, so we’ve done the digging and rounded up the consultancy firms in Perth with the cleanest records in the industry.

Talis is a top hire if you don’t fancy projects grinding to a halt. See, this crew can run multiple assessments simultaneously (e.g. contamination and geotechnical studies), reducing downtime.
Their broad multidisciplinary expertise also means you don’t have to hire or pay for another team. Spatial services, waste/noise/asset management, and engineering solutions are all offered under one roof.
As for their speciality, environmental approvals, investigations, and management are their bread and butter. That’s why most of their base comes from sectors such as land development, waste, and mining.
Even so, Talis’ industry scope isn’t that extensive. The majority of the alternatives here cover more.
Some extras would be nice as well. For example, other firms offer fit testing and climate change-related solutions.
There are no snags beyond in terms of capability and experience, fortunately. Their projects are mostly large-scale, and the team has been around since 2012.
Friendly Staff
Great office and friendly staff.

Founded in 2011, Western Environmental has a diverse suite of services. The range features over 10 solutions (one of the most varied here), including those that others don’t offer, like climate change strategy development.
With over 50 professionals on board, waiting for someone to show up doesn’t take ages either. Besides, their office is a quick 8-minute drive from the Perth CBD.
Another strong point is client retention. Some folks have been teaming up with Western for over 5 years, and it says a lot about their operations’ quality.
They’re also nationwide, with high-value projects across WA, SA, QLD, and NSW.
On top of that, 10-plus industries make up their clientele, defence and aviation included.
A minor hitch is that they’re yet to tackle any work in the ACT. It’d be handy as well if noise management is offered.
Really Helpful
Been using WE for years, really helpful and they know their stuff! Great to work with, would highly recommend!

Businesses under the oil, gas, mining, construction, and manufacturing sectors might find Environmental Site Services (ENVSS) helpful. After all, they’ve been offering consultancy to those industries since 2011.
Specifically, it’s environmental monitoring (air, soil, and water), occupational hygiene, and hazardous material management they do best (just like these disposal companies).
Their fit testing and workforce screening solutions are also top-notch bits. From our chats, reports are handed out within 5 minutes.
We have to note, however, that some clients brought up less-than-cordial encounters with a few of the firm’s staff members.
Relatively speaking, their industry coverage is also not as lengthy as that of our other picks.
The upside is that they do have some unique solutions. To name a few, there’s blast and vibration monitoring, both weather-protected, achieved using solar power, and offering data in real-time.
Process Was Easy As
Recently visited this business to be N95 mask fit tested and the process was easy as! In and out within 15 mins, report followed about 15 minutes later. Will definitely make this business my go to for my yearly fit testing.

Enviro’s customer service department is highly rated; clients we hit up mentioned their professionalism, which wasn’t surprising to us considering Jim Cupitt (the founder) has over 20 years of experience.
The firm isn’t lacking in the essentials either. Licensing, evaluation, monitoring, and audits are on the menu, with specialised solutions to boot, namely non-invasive EMI surveys.
That said, some things you can get elsewhere aren’t available here. Noise and asbestos management are the most glaring examples of that.
Industry-wise, they often deal with industrial, residential, agricultural, infrastructural, and mining projects. Not the longest list, but still decent, especially if you account for their nationwide reach.
Jim’s memberships across recognised bodies, such as the Australian Society of Soil Science Inc. (ASSI) and the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AuslMM), are also a clear sign of credibility.
Very Professional
Contacted Environmental Consulting Australia for an agricultural assessment. Very professional and extremely knowledgeable. Will use ECA for future projects.

Another experienced firm to look at, particularly if you’re in the urban development and extractive resources sectors, is Coterra. Planning support, EPBC referrals, permit-clearing, and offset strategies have been their specialty since 2010.
Ecology surveys make the list as well. That’s sweet if you’re after a botanical- or zoological-leaning solution, something like weed mapping or fauna assessment.
However, one glaring catch is that they don’t have some of the stuff competitors do. Think EMI surveys, asbestos auditing, and occupational hygiene management.
The firm is primarily WA-based, too. For work outside the region, the previous candidates might be more suitable.
Fortunately, Coterra’s efficiency ratings are high, as claimed by several interviewees. Well, that’s not too surprising, given they’re the only entry here that grinds 7 days a week.
Very Competent
The team at Coterra are knowledgable, professional and technically very competent. They are lovely to work with and as a sub-consultant of their team, we have thoroughly enjoyed every project we have delivered with them.
