Best birthday party I’ve held
I had my son’s birthday party here today. It was lovely – just a totally chilled out experience, no stress at all. From when I called up in a panic about booking it coz I’m a stress head, to today with the lovely Alex who was there to greet us and help the kids (and me!) with games or anything – it was the best birthday party I’ve held. All the kids loved the afternoon, especially my son, and I recommend Nostalgia Box as a party venue wholeheartedly. Thank you guys, even my 70-year-old grumpy dad approved! We loved today.

Perth City Farm is my kind of birthday party venue when I’ve got grand decorating plans and zero interest in beige function rooms. Its gardens, barn, and courtyard give you a proper blank canvas for a birthday with personality.
You can bring your own food, drinks, furniture, and décor, which is brilliant if you like having creative control. The Barn, Kitchen, and Courtyard can also be combined for events of up to 500 guests.
I especially like the indoor-outdoor flow, because guests can dance inside and drift into the courtyard when they need some air. Late-night private events can run until 2 AM, which suits milestone birthdays nicely.
The catch is that it’s fairly hands-on. Perth City Farm doesn’t provide event, bar, or catering staff, so you’ll need to organise suppliers and manage more of the logistics yourself.

The Main Hall can fit up to 400 guests cocktail-style, so it works nicely for milestone birthdays with a long invite list. You also get practical extras like a stage, prep kitchen, projector, screen, microphones, and public-address equipment.
I especially like that you don’t have to sacrifice modern comforts for all that heritage charm.
The central Perth location also makes it easy to reach by train, bus, taxi, or nearby paid parking.
The catch is that evening or alcohol-serving events may require security, and bookings have a three-hour minimum. A bond of up to $1,000 may also apply, while open flames are off-limits, so candle-heavy styling plans might need a rethink.

Make the day such a magnificent one
We had a traditional ceremony at Perth Town Hall and had a long lead-up to the event. Throughout the process, Jordan Taylor was fantastic to deal with – responsive, clear, enthusiastic, helpful, flexible and patient. The event itself could not have gone better. Bricks 4 Kidz is a cracking choice when you’ve got a room full of energetic kids and zero desire to invent party games on the fly. The City West birthday party venue keeps them busy with LEGO-themed builds, challenges, and structured play.
I like that the Deluxe packages include party hosts, because that gives parents a fighting chance to actually enjoy the celebration too. There are several themes to choose from, and Premium packages let each child create a take-home minifigure.
The venue also has a fridge, microwave, and small oven, which makes bringing your own snacks and cake a bit easier.
Tableware is supplied, so that’s one less party-shop run to squeeze in.
The catch is that standard parties run for 90 minutes, with extra time costing more. Sunday bookings also attract a surcharge; there’s a non-refundable $100 deposit, and the venue caps parties at 24 children.

We had our son’s 7th birthday party at Bricks 4 Kids City West. The party was extremely well run, and Alexandra and Ethan did an amazing job engaging 14 very excited and energetic 6-year-old boys. Prison Island Perth is an awesome pick if your birthday crowd would rather compete than sit around a function room. Its 35 challenge cells mix physical tasks, brain teasers, and teamwork, so there’s plenty to keep everyone moving.
I like that bigger groups can split into smaller teams and chase points across the different cells. Live rankings on the screens also add just enough friendly rivalry to get everyone properly invested.
It suits kids, teens, and adults, with the venue advertising the experience for ages seven to 77. Birthday sessions run for around 90 minutes, making it easy to build the rest of your celebration around the games.
The main catch is that the indoor birthday party venue doesn’t have air conditioning, which could get pretty warm during an energetic session.
Guests also need to arrive 20 minutes early, and late entry isn’t allowed.

Can’t wait to go back
This was so much fun. We went for my Birthday and had a ball. There were 3 of us, and it was a great challenge. I loved that you could re-enter and try to complete the room, or if you couldn’t, you could leave any time. Can’t wait to go back. We had my husband and our 10yr old son. I recommend runners and comfortable clothing. I was in a dress as I had no idea what we were doing, as it was a surprise. I still managed to do everything, but shorts or jeans would have been better.
