Seasoned is how I’d label Perth Restoration Services. They’re over 20 years old and are certified by organisations such as ACRA, RIA, and IICRC.

The company’s scope is also an asset, with commercial, residential, and industrial property owners making up the majority of their clientele.

Promptness is another advantage, as their certified and easygoing inspectors often arrive and finish assessments on time. They can even rock up for emergency requests.

Better yet, dialling another team for removal isn’t needed at all. Perth Restoration’s crew is trained for that, saving you precious seconds.

Them being in demand can bite you back, though. It’s best to call ahead, unless you want to queue up.

And personally, I’d love to see some bundled services, considering their service list has offerings that gel nicely, like structural drying, heat drying, mould removal, and water damage restoration (which these water damage restorers can also help with).

If you’d rather not shell out a single dime, XsporWA is a must-call. Their full-site inspections cost nada and are pretty stacked for a free service: the root cause is tracked, and clients get recommendations afterwards.

What’s ace is they’re rocking high-tech gear, mainly thermal cameras and readers that can analyse moisture and air/surface microbial activities.

That said, it’s their Enzycleanse formula that sticks out. Made from plant-based enzymes, it’s 100% organic and has been tagged by the U.S. Federal Food and Drug Administration as generally safe to use.

On the downside, XsporSWA is mostly geared toward residential and commercial spots, not larger industrial sites.

They don’t operate on Sundays either, which is a major hiccup since the other picks here run daily, some even 24/7.

No qualms on the certification and experience end, though. Their specialists are ACRA and IIRC-accredited, plus the 2020-founded company hit our experience criterion.

Second to None

Wow, impressed by my experience with Xspor. Very professional and knowledgeable. We had mould issues in our bathroom and a chimney. A previous company did a treatment about 4 months ago without too much success. We wanted a natural alternative and these guys are experts in this field. Richard came out to inspect, his knowledge and due diligence is second to none. He was too busy to do the treatment following his assessments, but promptly got one of his techs to do the job within the hour. Forget his name, but the young chap was superb and very thorough. Inspector Homes’ 40-year-plus tenure is solid proof of their quality, isn’t it? In our book, it is, especially once you factor in their compliance with AS4349.1-2007 standards.

The prices aren’t too shabby for Perth rates either. It’s regarded as competitive, and clients even get perks like free follow-up consultations.

Service-wise, it’s what you’d expect from a long-running firm. I mostly dealt with Phil, and the guy patiently replied to all of my questions and broke down things in plain English.

Their residential inspection specialty, however, might be a deal-breaker to those after a company experienced in other property types.

The Sunday closure is a downer as well, especially if it’s your sole free window.

On the upside, inspection reports are usually provided within 24 hours, and they aren’t limited to mould alone. Included in the findings are pest attacks (after the inspection, it’s best to leave pest control to the pros).

With roots going back to 2002 and IICRC certifications, WA Flood and Fire is no rookie in the game. That’s only made better by the 24-hour availability and multi-property type scope.

Their tech is no joke either. For the most part, the crew uses the Protimeter MMS3 for moisture-reading, a piece of equipment said to be accurate and quick in providing results.

What’s neat is that they reduce the need for hiring a different set of contractors. You can hire them for mould removals and other niche services, such as sewage spill cleaning and water damage restoration.

But if there’s a feature that truly sets them apart, it’s the fact that they sell their own mould cleaning and inspection kits.

However, one possible setback is their history of slow email and phone response.

A few past clients also complained about the slightly higher fees.

Mister Mould gave me some wiggle room financially. Unlike most competitors, their mould inspection service could either be verbal or written; I went with the former, as it’s the cheaper route.

Now, I’m not calling the latter a wrong move or anything. Sure, it’s around 100 bucks pricier, but the written reports are meant for large-scale properties, such as those owned by landlords and builders.

The bit I truly dig, though, is what each report comes bundled with. Beyond the thermal images and electronic moisture readings, clients get advice, recommendations (including repairmen, if needed), and quotes for remediation.

On top of that, Mister Mould’s IIRC-certified specialists provide micro cleaning and misting solutions, which are backed by a 6–12 month guarantee.

Manpower can be a hurdle, though, since it’s a one-man operation most of the time.

Opting for lab sampling will also bump the cost, with prices starting at $160.
