modelling-agencies-in-perth

Your road to stardom begins at the best modelling agencies in Perth!

  • Track Record: Portfolios matter, so we went with agencies that consistently place models in various projects, including ad campaigns, fashion shows, films, or photoshoots, confirmed through feedback, gallery reviews, and interviews. Bonus points were given to names that handle famous models and personalities. We did the same for candidates with awards.
  • Experience: The list is exclusive to modelling agencies with not fewer than 5 years of industry experience. To verify, we scoured through company profiles and public records.
  • Clientele: We reviewed each agency’s client lists, prioritising picks with at least 5 clients while giving better grades to those servicing more and/or bigger names.
  • Communication Skills: Through feedback and interviews, we narrowed the list to agencies with a reputation for being transparent, patient, responsive, professional, proactive, and clear.
  • Range: Agencies that specialise in various modelling types, such as plus-size, runway, commercial, and fitness, were favoured. We confirmed this through calls, website visits, and interviews.

I may look like every bloke you’ll see at Woolworths, but my cousin Max? He’s a right sight for sore eyes.

You’ve probably seen him owning runways or popping up in ads and thought to yourself that his killer looks got him there. And you’re right, but it’s not just that.

If you really want to make it, the support of a reputable modelling agency makes a huge difference.

If you’re an aspiring model, we searched for the best ones who can reliably land you gigs and help you get your foot in the door of the fashion industry.

If you’re a business owner, we also found ones with talent pools that can represent your brand well.

Mozeek Productions is one of this list’s most seasoned and flexible agencies. They’ve been operating since 2008, with models trained for photoshoots, fashion parades, corporate events, and even moving media.

Client-wise, they have more than 10. Some notable businesses that have hired and still hire their pros include Homebuyers Centre, Kinn & Ko, City of Vincent, The Sunday Times, and Wolfit Box.

Smaller businesses might find the rates a bit steep, though. We suggest ringing them up first to discuss details; they often respond fast, so waiting won’t likely be an issue.

Mozeek’s popularity can also be a minor hitch for brands. There’s a chance of not landing your first choice.

On the flip side, that’s good news if you’re a model.

Another positive bit is the agency’s (particularly Charlotte’s) reputation for being transparent and enthusiastic in handling projects, including those not based in WA.

Pros

  • Open since 2008
  • Can offer services outside of WA
  • Offers moving media services

Cons

  • Can be pricey for smaller businesses
  • High demand

Super Friendly Staff

‘Vivid Media (www.vividm.com.au) use Charlotte and her Mozeek Team for our business projects. They have been involved in a number of projects using Photo Booths, Interative Games and more. Always fun and super friendly staff, can’t wait to do more.’

Very Easy to Work With

‘I reached out to Charlotte at a very short notice – for a requirement of a model. Charlotte was kind enough to be a part of my shoot herself, that too on a Sunday.

Very professional and open to directions – very easy to work with.

I love supporting Perth based businesses and Mozeek is definitely one to support.’

My cousin trained in Dense Selby. A lot of models actually have, and many still do, considering the agency has been around since 1991.

And yup, their biggest advantage is training aspirants. Skills are typically developed through courses that hone body language, confidence, skincare (these clinics can also help!), presentation, and other related areas.

Starting early won’t be an issue, since they have programs for future stars as young as 4 years old!

Best of all, you’ll get on-the-job experience with Dense Selby, unlike most modelling schools that just train. Parades and lifestyle promos are what they usually focus on.

The courses’ rates aren’t exactly budget-friendly, though, especially if you’re just starting out.

Some brands also prefer working with an agency with seasoned models, not trainees.

To be fair, their graduates have racked up tons of accolades. Dhrumit and Talisha, for instance, have both been awarded by Pierrot’s Model Search.

Pros

  • Open since 1991
  • Great for developing skills
  • Offers on-the-job opportunities
  • Has awarded graduates

Cons

  • Courses can be costly
  • Models are mostly trainees

Kind and Patient

‘I’m so incredibly grateful to have had the pleasure of modelling for and working alongside Dene. My Mum first signed me up for classes as a little 13 year old, and now 7 years later I’m so happy to still be modelling with Dene. Classes were always so much fun, and I’ve made so so so many friends both in class and on the job, and I’m still close with many of the friends I made throughout those 7 years. Dene is so kind and patient, and has given me so many opportunities that I’m so grateful for, signing me up for these classes was the best thing my Mum could have done for me! And I’ve recently had the pleasure of working alongside some of Dene’s newer students, and they are the kindest most hard working and dedicated models I’ve ever met. It really is a lovely family here at Dene’s 💓💓’

Amazing

‘My daughter has been with Dene nearly 4 years now. Dene’s dedication to every student to enhance their potential is amazing, her patience, guidance & knowledge has transformed my daughter.

She’s enjoyed all the different aspects of modelling photo shoots, catwalk and etiquette lessons.

I would recommend Dene Selby Modelling for sure.’

If this list were based on longevity alone, Krissie Westwood would easily be numero uno, given that they opened in 1980.

Their services are flexible too, both for models and brands. In fact, even babies and seniors can join their crew, who are often hired for casting needs.

Trainees, however, should prepare their wallets. Courses here don’t come cheap, and getting projects isn’t guaranteed.

A handful of models have also raised concerns over the slow (or lack of) updates. This makes the pricey fees much harder to swallow.

On a positive note, Krissie Westwood’s client list features over 20 brands, with Watson Living, IKEA, Bank of Queensland, Australand, and Alinta as the biggest names.

The programs aren’t just about runway skills either. Courses are actually shaped around a student’s needs or goals, and the topics, such as resume writing or interview prep, have real-world use.

Pros

  • Open since 1980
  • Tailored lessons
  • Has over 20 clients
  • Specialises in casting (TV, ads, parades, films, etc.)

Cons

  • Can be pricey
  • Slow updates

Welcoming, Professional, and Kind

‘Couldn’t recommend Krissie and Bob enough!

I was warmly welcomed on arrival when I went in to have my portfolio photos taken, they instantly made me feel calm and comfortable.

I recently had a fantastic experience through Krissie Westwood. Myself and 3 other great talent from Krissie Westwood filmed for 2 days in Swan Valley. Everyone on set were so welcoming, professional and kind which made my experience so enjoyable!’

Loved the Staff

‘My daughter has been with Krissie Westwood for over 5 years. She enjoyed doing the classes. Loved the staff and other girls and guys she was working with. She has been involved with several parades and promotional events. I have watch her over the years grow from a quiet girl with low self-esteem to a tall confident young woman. Crystal enjoys working with Krissie and can’t wait to be involved in her next adventure.’

Launched in 2009, CSA Models is one of Perth’s go-to agencies for professional male models.

You’ve probably stumbled upon their projects before, thanks to partnerships with global brands such as Sukrew (London), 6XMagazine (Atlanta), and Looker Mag (Milan).

Other than that, they have pros trained for various affairs, like runway gigs or fashion shows. We even talked to brands that phoned them for remote shoots.

The event style rarely matters either; CSA’s portfolio will tell you they’re pretty adaptable, with models who’ve done both swimwear presentations and high-end catwalks.

Unfortunately, they only represent male models. That’s a massive hit if we’re talking variety.

Not having a physical office is another point against them. Brands or models who prefer face-to-face negotiations will likely say the same.

The upside? Their team is generally described as friendly and organised. You can even ask them for creative input.

Pros

  • Open since 2009
  • Global affiliations
  • Wide service range
  • Roster of professionals, not trainees

Cons

  • Only hires male models
  • No physical office

Pleasure to Work With

‘Have Worked with the Team at CSA Models for a few years now, always very friendly, Generous, and a pleasure to work with, Thanks Heaps for the Continued Collaboration opportunities.’

From what we’ve gathered, Halo Modelling is a prime destination for models who want to develop their confidence and personal portfolio. The agency champions inclusivity and creative growth, after all.

They achieve that through a well-rounded, 5-week course, revolving around proper poses, skin care routine, runway presentation, and more.

Now, here’s the best bit: each week includes a professional photoshoot, with makeup covered. By the course’s end, students leave with a quality portfolio to showcase, not just skills and guts.

We also appreciate their social media and industry training. Most agencies here don’t teach aspirants how to promote themselves online or how to navigate the modelling world.

Halo isn’t perfect, though. For starters, they’re more of a training agency and not one you’d call for direct job opportunities.

Plus, the course is mainly geared toward women. Male models only get limited days for photoshoots.

Pros

  • Open since 2019
  • Well-rounded, 5-week course
  • Great for portfolio-building
  • Offers social media training

Cons

  • Not for direct job placements
  • Focuses mostly on women

A Safe Space

‘Halo Modelling is by far the best place to start modelling in perth! It is such a welcoming community, the support and encouragement I’ve received from everyone there have helped me gain so much confidence in myself. It’s a safe space where we can express ourselves creatively without any judgment, the assistants are genuinely kind and caring, always there to lend a helping hand and give advice, if you’re looking for a place to grow, learn, and meet new people/friends, halo is the place to be! :)))’
