Michael from Pro Painting Works made the process a breeze. He spoke professionally, responded within a day, offered useful hacks for free, and honoured the quote and timeline alike.

The company is also Dulux-accredited, meaning their product and service quality was approved by trained assessors. If you need proof, my home is one; it’s painted with moisture/weather-resistant and low-odour products with high-quality finishes.

Better yet, there were no disruptions on my end. Pro Painting Works worked around the schedule I gave them and protected every furniture I had before grinding.

That said, I had to snag a spot early. They’re popular with both residential and commercial property owners.

There’s no round-the-clock service either. Sure, they operate until Sunday, but some competitors accept bookings 24/7.

Nevertheless, they get a thumbs-up from me, especially with how competitive the pricing is. The 10-plus years of experience and comprehensive offerings help, too.

Professional and Excellent Painter

We engaged the services of Michael to paint the exterior of our home. His quote was very competitive. DB Painting got the name from Daniel Bromley. He’s a painting and decorating savant named by Service Seeking as one of Australia’s top 10 painters.

The satisfied clients we chatted with can back that up. Many applauded the long-lasting results, with one claiming their 1968 home had a modern glow-up and is yet to show signs of deterioration 24 months after Dan worked on it.

The catch is, you can’t simply click and book him. Some clients even waited for 9 months, which is bad if you need a new coat ASAP!

Not having Sunday hours hurt their flexibility scores as well.

DB regularly meets deadlines, though, so the wait could be worth it. I mean, the man has been painting for over 15 years!

He’s also fully registered/insured and uses earth-friendly paints with low volatile organic components, which can cause eye, nose, and throat irritation.

Flexing 25-plus years, Everlast Painting is a smart call for homeowners who prioritise tenure. Having licensed pros and stints with industrial projects adds to their legitimacy.

The handy part is that projects begin with consultations and wrap up with a thorough clean-up. Some companies only provide painting solutions.

As for the pricing, many are satisfied with the reasonable fees. It’s hard not to be stoked when Alex and his team typically finish jobs on time, even urgent ones, thanks to their 24-hour availability.

Comms are said to be spot-on as well. In fact, our interviewees claimed they had been kept in the loop throughout the project.

It would’ve been ace if there was a loyalty program, though, considering most clients hire them twice or more.

Additionally, other entries have services Everlast Painting doesn’t provide, like fence work and spray painting.

Contrast Painting is among Perth’s most accredited names. See, they’re Dulux-approved and linked with recognised bodies, including Master Painters & Decorators Australia and Porter’s Paints.

Another asset is the full-service setup. You can book this one for interior, exterior, concrete, wood, and plaster work.

They’re even trained to provide specialist jobs! That’s good news if you’re after French wash effects or wall ageing.

Paul and Alain, the founders, are also well-liked by past clients, owing largely to their politeness and freebies, like the complimentary touch-ups and clean-ups.

Tenure isn’t their strongest point, though. Contrast opened in 2017, and while that’s 8 years back, it doesn’t change the fact that they’re the youngest company here.

You can’t book them on Saturdays and Sundays either.

On the bright side, prices are fair, services come with a 10-year warranty, and the team is neat, as per our interviewees.

Took Such Care

Alain and his guys were a pleasure to have in my home. Took such care with floor coverings, furniture etc. I am so happy with the job. After 35-plus years in the trade, it’s difficult to question Allure’s painting chops. Their Master Builder Association (MBA) and Master Painter Association (MPA) memberships bolster that.

The cool bit is they’re game for free site surveys that provide clients with non-obligatory and accurate quotes. Even better, prices are fixed.

You might want to plan your budget first, though. Allure’s rates lean toward the premium range (even if you supply the paint yourself).

Oh, and good luck booking them right away. They’re quite popular with homeowners.

The range can make up for that snag. Exterior, interior, roof, and new home painting solutions are on the cards, all done by an in-house team, not a different set of contractors.

Sweetening things further are the 10-year workmanship guarantee and VOC-free paints. 

Here and there, Allure also provides no-cost jobs, like that time they evened my workmate’s badly patched walls (a problem wallpaper installers can also sort out).

Kept His Word

After contacting several painters I ended up choosing Allure because of the advice and service I received from Nick. Nick was responsive and called when he said he would and kept his word, which is a rare quality when dealing with tradespeople. Our situation was a little unusual but Nick was prepared to work with us and work around what was happening and find solutions with us. The paintwork and products used were of a high standard (Dulux) and the house was left clean and not full of dust. The walls look beautiful and the attention to detail is there, such as around light switches, corners, blinds etc. They even fixed a rather botchy patch up job left by the builders handyman when they moved the towel rail in the bathroom, you can’t see it at all. When we had an issue with two of the walls due to faulty plaster work (trowel lines stripier than a zebras backside), Nick supported us and helped us contact the appropriate people to get advice and advised us how to go about getting it resolved and repaired by our builder. Even after the job was done and paid for, Nick has continued to be very supportive of us, in the giving of advice in regards to what to look for when our builder repairs and repaints our walls (we are sad it won’t be by Nick and Allure, but we are happy that we now know what to look out for). Allure is worth it, not only for the quality of the workmanship and products used, but the service too! Highly recommended! Thank you!

Excellent Finished Product

I have no hesitation in recommending Allure Painting Services for any painting job you may require.

I engaged Allure for the external painting of my two story house and I must say that it was a hassle free experience right from obtaining the quote, which turned out to be thousands of dollars less than the other quotes I received, to the excellent finished product which also included some repairs to the woodwork and some extra painting, both at no additional charges.
