The best fenced dog parks in Perth are safe for zoomies!

Fur-parents in Perth don’t have it ruff when it comes to playtime. There’s always a park, oval, or grassy stretch built for their pups’ sniffing and chasing sessions.

But here’s the rub: not all of them are fenced. If you’re wrangling a high-energy pup like my collie, that’s a deal-breaker, unsafe even.

Luckily, enclosed spaces for a proper case of zoomies are still around. The team and I found the best picks, so you don’t have to doomscroll for answers!

Ozone Dog Agility Park

From stella.the.adorable.dobe

Address: Plain St, East Perth

Contact Details: +61 8 9461 3333

Operating Hours: Daily – 24 hours

Website

We had a hard time taking our pups away from Ozone Dog Agility Park’s obstacle course, a well-maintained facility by the Swan River. Those weave poles, jump bars, tunnels, and pyramid ramps were instant hits.

Convenience for hoomans makes it all the sweeter. An 8-minute drive from the Perth CBD took us here, and we didn’t have to pack water bottles or stand all the time, thanks to the fountain and benches.

Tip: The best time for some peace and quiet is between 3 pm and 6 pm.

Jack Marks Reserve

From donut_chow

Address: 80/114 Wright St, Highgate

Operating Hours: Daily – 24 hours

Website

Jack Marks Reserve is ideal if you and your pooches aren’t up for a scorch. There are loads of shade here, so darting across the manicured grass rarely feels like a tanning session.

Amenities-wise, you’ll find water fountains and doggie bins. Night lighting is also reliable, based on our experience.

The fence, though, is just above the knee. That’s a risk if your baby is a jumpy one.

Tip: Street parking is available.

Calleya Dog Park

From munsterbernerbros

Address: Abelia Rd, Banjup

Operating Hours: Daily – 24 hours

Dogs of any size will enjoy Calleya Dog Park. See, it features two separate off-leash play zones: one for munchkins and one for larger furballs.

It’s far from boring, either, with an agility obstacle course on site. Drinking fountains with low bowl attachments are also around, though toilets aren’t; sort yourself out beforehand.

Tip: Don’t forget your sunscreen. The place isn’t that shady.

Lake Monger Dog Park

From helenmalpas

Address: Lake Monger Dr, Wembley

Contact Details: +61 8 9347 6000

Operating Hours: Daily – 24 hours

Website

Next to the birdlife-attracting Galup, Lake Monger Dog Park is a real favourite in Perth. It sees tons of fur parents, so expect crowds and potential new mates.

In terms of amenities, it ticks the must-haves, such as water fountains with bowls, shaded seating for picnics, ample parking spaces, and an off-leash zone. The bit I like most is that it’s near The Acai Corner.

That said, the park gets too muddy in winter.

Tip: Toys are available here. Consider not packing any for convenience.

Bracadale Park

From griffcapturesau

Address: Bracadale Way, Canning Vale

Operating Hours: Daily – 24 hours

Bracadale Park works if your pupper is a shy or high-energy one. The separate sections for timid and extroverted dogs make it so.

Interactive elements are available at both. We’re talking sand pits, tyres, agility ramps, and crawl tunnels.

Other than that, there’s an inclusive playground for kiddos. Ours spent most of their time on the large slides, merry-go-round, and trampolines.

Tip: There are waste bins provided. You’ll often find them on the exit and entry points.

North Beach Dog Park

From arnoldandfrank

Address: Charles Riley Memorial Reserve, 86 N Beach Rd, North Beach

Operating Hours: Daily – 24 hours

For me, the standout thing about the wheelchair-accessible North Beach Dog Park is that I can always go for a quick dip with my pet. The water of this sheltered beach (much like these other dog beaches) is usually on the calmer side.

It’s quite roomy as well, with divided zones for big and small pups. Plus, you’ll hardly run out of shaded spots and nearby walking trails.

Tip: Early morning is the best time to visit, especially if you’re not in the mood for a tan (if you are, these tanning salons might help).

Mofflin Park

From town_of_claremont

Address: Claremont

Operating Hours: Daily – 24 hours

Mofflin Park isn’t the biggest in town, but it gets the job done. To start, it’s not short on trees and picnic benches.

The exercise area also has a sand pit and a grassy stretch for the pups to dig around in or dash on. Just chuck water bottles in your bag, as you won’t find a fountain here.

Tip: Take the kids with you. There’s a separate playground for them.

Willeri Dog Park

From carolephilomena

Address: 200 Winton Rd, Joondalup

Operating Hours: Daily – 24 hours

The only mistake I made by bringing my baby to Willeri Dog Park was not packing extra clothes for him. For nearly 30 minutes, he mucked about in the nearby creek along with other dogs.

Beyond that, the outing was a blast because of the park’s open layout. There’s plenty of grassy legroom here for a game of catch…though shade and benches are severely lacking.

Tip: The park’s not that great in winter, as it gets boggy.

The Hales Dog Park

From prettypaws_petservices

Address: Crimson Bvd, Forrestfield

Operating Hours: Mon to Fri – 24 hours

If you want your four-legged pal to meet new friends, the shaded Hales Dog Park is spot on. Its separate enclosures for big and small pups are ace for socialising.

They’re also perfect for zoomies. My collie, for example, just ran through the natural terrain, sandpit, and boulders for an entire arvo.

Tip: Bring your own H2O. Water is limited here.

Balga Dog Park

From chookykim_thepetcompanion

Address: Princess Wallington Reserve, Balga

Operating Hours: Daily – 24 hours

Balga Dog Park is a hotspot for a day out with the fam, with the pups in tow, of course. Big and small dogs get their own play area, while fur parents can chill on the picnic tables or fire up the BBQs.

On top of that, it’s close to the dog-friendly Bina Parkland and Princess Wellington Reserve. I personally enjoy walking my pooch there, usually after a game of football or basketball.

Tip: Make sure to bring a strong light source if you’re staying late. The park’s night lighting isn’t the best.

Whiteman Park Dog Park

From whitemanpark

Address: Whiteman Park, 233a Drumpellier Dr, Whiteman

Contact Details: +61 8 9209 6001

Operating Hours: Daily – 8:30 am to 6 pm

Website

Anybody who thinks that size matters when it comes to fenced pup zones should head to Whiteman Park. This spot offers 2.5 hectares of mature trees, an obstacle course, several water points, and free doggy bags.

Fur parents can walk and unwind, too. In fact, you might’ve spotted me here before, strolling on the park’s 500-metre perimeter walkway.

Tip: Their daily hours can be inconsistent. Check their Facebook for the latest ones.

Jan Hammon Dog Park

From twoadventurepups

Address: Jan Hammond Reserve, Bartram Rd, Success

Operating Hours: Daily – 24 hours

Jan Hammon Dog Park is just as family-friendly as it is dog-friendly.

The pups get to play freely on the two separate enclosures, which come with water fountains, biodegradable waste bags, agility equipment, and an obstacle course. Plus, they’ll likely meet new friends, given how popular this park is with fur parents.

Speaking of fur parents, you can take your mini-mes here and let them loose on the children’s playground or the small basketball court!

Tip: Don’t forget your picnic essentials. The park features a BBQ area near the doggy zone.

Kingsway Dog Park

From donut_chow

Address: Kingsway Reserve, Madeley

Operating Hours: Daily – 24 hours

Stimulating is how I’d sum up Kingsway Dog Park. Grassy and tree-lined, my collie had a tail-wagging time zipping across the agility course and sandpits…when he wasn’t getting soaked by the irrigated turf.

As for me, I had a stress-free time on the cosy seats. I didn’t even have to bring water bottles or a torch, thanks to the lead-free fountains with tippable bowls and recreational lighting (from 6 pm to 10 pm).

Tip: Best to head over on weekends when the Kingsway Markets is around.

Shearn Park

From jobi_wan_kenobi_bully

Address: Maylands

Operating Hours: Daily – 24 hours

Contact Details: 08 9272 0992

Website

Shearn Park is the right call if you want a sporty day out with the pups. Famed for its cricket, basketball, and soccer events, this fully fenced getaway has the space (which resembles an oval) for a day of zoomies.

If you just want to relax, that won’t be a problem. Benches are plenty here, and the passive floodlighting allows for leisurely evening walks.

Tip: You can hire kiosks. Just ring the digits above for the deets.

Riverside Gardens

From soulofshu

Address: King William St, Bayswater

Contact Details: +61 8 9272 0622

Operating Hours: Daily – 24 hours

Website

A favourite for doggy dips and sightseeing, Riverside Gardens is rarely empty. Almost every day of the week (especially Saturdays and Sundays) sees it flowing with dog walkers, fams out for a picnic, and even boaters!

Don’t worry about bumping into them, as the fenced sections at the Riverside Garden East are separate. The same thing applies to the beach access.

You won’t run out of shelters to relax in. The park features a couple of trees and gazebos, one of which is at the end of a jetty that’s great for reeling in black bream with the tots.

Tip: If you want to snack out, rock up during the weekend when food vendors and trucks are around.
