The Best Trucking Companies in Perth for Headache-Free Transport

Experience: This review is only for companies with at least 10 years in the trucking industry. Business records and profiles were reviewed for validation.

Communication Skills: We rated clarity, politeness, and efficiency based on feedback, experience, interviews, and test calls/emails. Timely updates concerning shipment status and effective issue resolution significantly mattered, too.

Reliability: This one focuses on on-time, damage-free delivery records, primarily verified through interviews, feedback, forums, and experience.

Equipment: Fleets were assessed for modernity and suitability for various cargo types. Companies that can sort heavy-duty, dangerous goods, or refrigerated units scored higher.

Pricing: Quotes across companies were compared, helping us determine which names follow Perth’s standards or offer the best value for money, considering the overall service quality.

If you’re not in motion these days, you’ll be left in the dust. Just ask any entrepreneur who regularly moves items from point A to B.

Trucking companies are their lifesavers, lightening their load figuratively and literally. It’s simply the practical route. Hiring one is cost-effective, and they can speed up your shipment with large fleets.

I know, besides cost-effectiveness, you’re also looking for a speedy service that doesn’t break stuff, so I have the right recommendations below!

Businesses (especially mining ones) in Kalgoorlie might benefit most from West Coast Express. This company cuts the usual delay by sending freight directly to the region instead of routing it to Peth.

You can book them for heavy haulage and interstate delivery too. After all, their fleet is built to handle massive loads, including industrial machinery…and all the paperwork that comes with it.

Their pricing is on par with the city’s standard rates. Some patrons even say it’s one of the biggest reasons they stick around.

That brings us to experience and client retention. West Coast Express has been running for over 15 years, with loyal clients on board for more than a decade!

Communication needs improvement, though. Gripes about delayed responses have been raised.

Tech upgrades would do them wonders as well, especially live tracking tools or an app.

Pros

  • Around for over 15 years
  • Specialises in delivering to the Kalgoorlie region
  • Has long-time clients (10-plus years)
  • Solid pricing

Cons

  • Communication delays
  • Lack of live tracking tools/apps

Been Using Their Service for over Fifteen Years

Great service and very fair pricing. I’ve been using their service for over fifteen years and never a problem. Very nice, friendly staff too. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Professional and Approachable

Have been using Watsons for years – I could not ask for a better service throughout my dealings, always been professional and approachable while catering to my requests and freight needs.

CTI’s inclusion here is no mystery; having over 45 years in the trucking game is impressive. Even better is their collection of ISO certificates, namely 9001, 14001, and 45001.

Speciality-wise, transporting heavy machinery and vehicles is the service they’re often phoned for. The reliability score leans positively, thanks to their Australia-wide and well-planned networks.

Another convenient, well-rated bit is their capability to perform door-to-door services. This feature saves time, as you don’t have to arrange separate pick-ups or transfers.

But if you truly want to cut down delays, there’s a 2-day express solution from Melbourne and Sydney to Perth. It’s on the premium end, mind.

Thankfully, their general rates fit well with Perth’s market.

On the flip side, more than one client has complained about unfriendly and dismissive project managers. Late responses have been flagged as well.

Pros

  • Open for over 45 years
  • ISO certifications
  • Door-to-door option
  • Solid pricing

Cons

  • History of rude/dismissive project managers
  • Late responses

Good Service

Shipped a 4WD to Adelaide with fishing gear and two surfboards inside. Good service, good price and the vehicle arrived a week later exactly when they said it would, and in the exact same condition that I dropped it off. When I picked it up the bloke told me the car had been shipped over by rail—thumbs up for using the more environmentally friendly option.

Did An Awesome Job

I sent my gold mk6 from Perth to Sydney. I was really worried about doing it after reading bad reviews online. But CTI logistics did an awesome job. Completely stress free even put a load of belongings in the boot. Everything arrived perfectly and on time. Really great job guys.

In terms of fleet size, GKR Transport is one of the most stacked here. It’s made up of 140 trailers and 50 prime movers, well-equipped for both palletised goods and large machinery.

They typically don’t charge a fortune either. In fact, all of our interviewees described their rates as “competitive” and “well priced.”

They’re not the best in the communication department, though. Common gripes we heard include getting passed from one phone rep to another, abrupt responses, and a lack of clear-cut answers.

It’s also worth noting that customers moving motorcycles have to crate them on their own.

Beyond that, they’re not shabby, especially if we’re talking speed, the 30-year tenure, and the easy-to-use online portal.

GKR’s storage and distribution facilities can speed things up, too, as they remove the need to hire a third-party handler. They’re even located across major cities, specifically Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and Adelaide.

Pros

  • Around for over 30 years
  • Competitive rates
  • User-friendly portal
  • Has storage facilities across major cities

Cons

  • Unfriendly, unclear, and late responses
  • Self-crating required for motorcycle transport

Great Value

I shipped a sauna from NSW to Perth. Great value great service! Highly recommended.

Easy Online System

Made a huge difference to our businesses since we switched to GKR. From speed of quotes, pick-ups and the easy online system, they are very easy to deal with. Prices are competitive too and that all helps. Highly recommend!

KTI Transport’s all-around service list grants them extra marks for convenience. Road/rail freight transport, warehousing, and container services are among the core services of this 1987-founded company.

Cross-docking is where they really edge out most of the competition. The feature improves turnaround and lowers costs for bulk shipments, since it keeps loads moving and removes storage overheads.

Wine exporters, in particular, should consider giving them a shot. KTI’s record in safely and punctually transporting wine bottles is solid.

On top of that, they reach places others don’t, such as Albury, Wagga Wagga, and Dubbo.

A minor downside is that they operate fewer warehouses (Perth, Adelaide, and Melbourne only) compared to most competitors.

Express shipping is yet to be added, too. That’s a massive drawback for clients who often need speedier deliveries.

The silver lining? Well, you don’t have to break the bank for their rates.

Pros

  • Open since 1987
  • Has cross-docking
  • Well-regarded by wine exporters
  • Covers places like Albury, Wagga Wagga, and Dubbo

Cons

  • Fewer warehouses
  • Lack of express options

Quicker Than Expected

Huge relief finding a transport company to move my crated vehicle across the country. Friendly, helpful and reasonable price. Quicker than expected as well! I highly recommend Kangaroo transport to anyone asking!

Very Careful

We had a delivery out to our vineyard and the driver was very careful with our pallets of bottles and did his best to get them where I needed them. Refreshing to get good service from a transport company. Thanks.

It’s hard not to make a list about trucking companies in Perth without giving Bishop Transport a shout. Since 1972, they’ve been providing solutions to Western Australia and the Northern Territory.

Don’t think of them as old, though. The modernised fleet allows for GPS tracking (these GPS suppliers got some if you need them), even if a weather disturbance causes road closure.

Moreover, their 130-equipment fleet can move almost every load type. Think palletised freight, hot shots, and oversized items.

Bishop is even licensed to handle hazardous freight and is compliant with the Australian Dangerous Goods Code. Explosives, radioactive materials, controlled waste, and corrosive substances are examples of high-risk cargo that they deal with.

Region coverage is a glaring weak point, however. As mentioned, their operations are mostly concentrated in WA and NT.

Their customer service also needs some tune-up. Calls getting cut off and a handful of staff members being unfriendly have been mentioned by our interviewees.

Pros

  • Around since 1972
  • Licensed to move dangerous goods
  • ISO-certified
  • Modern fleet

Cons

  • Limited regional coverage
  • History of cutting off calls and unfriendly reps

Much Appreciated

Thank you for the service. If you are in Carnarvon, please ask for Ben because he will collect your freight without charge. Much appreciated Ben.
