5 Best Audio & Music Collectibles in Perth Worth Digging For

Inventory Depth and Rarity: We favoured shops with more than the usual greatest hits. Rare pressings, deep back catalogues, and genuine music memorabilia all scored well.

Physical Gear and Equipment: A good collection deserves decent playback gear. We checked for turntables, replacement styli, and record-care essentials.

Fair Sourcing and Trade Values: Selling or trading shouldn’t feel like a guessing game. We looked for clear appraisals and fair buying policies for pre-loved items.

Store Accessibility and Hours: Crate digging is easier when the shop fits your schedule. We gave extra credit for weekend hours, easy parking, and handy pickup options.

Hunting down the best audio and music collectibles in Perth can turn into a full-blown crate-digging mission. One minute you’re browsing, the next you’re debating whether that dusty pressing is the find of the year.

Perth has plenty of music stores for new releases, instruments, and everyday gear. But serious collectors usually want the oddball stuff—rare vinyl, vintage turntables, memorabilia, and pieces with a bit of history.

So we went looking beyond the obvious shelves and into the spots collectors actually get excited about. These Perth picks are worth a browse when your wishlist is more deep cut than greatest hits.

Hours: Monday–Saturday: 9 AM–5 PM, Sunday: 10 AM–4 PM, Most public holidays: 10 AM–4 PM

Replay Records is the kind of Kenwick stop where a quick browse can easily turn into a proper crate-digging session. The family-run shop has been around since 1989 and carries more than 50,000 collectibles.

We like how its range stretches across vinyl, CDs, DVDs, cassettes, sheet music, and music memorabilia, so there’s plenty beyond the usual new-release racks.

Collectors can also dig through older pressings, newer reissues, posters, and other music-related finds without hopping between several shops.

Better yet, Replay buys and sells pre-loved music items, which makes it handy if you’re clearing space as well as adding to your collection.

Plus, its seven-day trading schedule gives weekend hunters a decent window to browse.

The trade-off is the 5 PM weekday closing time. That can make after-work visits a little tight if Kenwick isn’t already on your route.

Pros

  • 50,000+ stated collectibles across multiple formats
  • Family-run business operating since 1989
  • Stocks vinyl, CDs, DVDs, cassettes, sheet music, and memorabilia
  • Buys and sells pre-loved music items
  • Open seven days a week

Cons

  • Weekday closing time of 5 PM can be tight for after-work visits

“I’ve never found a place I love as much as Replay Records”

When I was a teenager and first falling in love with music and collecting vinyl, I discovered this place. I have been exploring record stores since, all over Perth, Melbourne and overseas, and I’ve never found a place I love as much as Replay Records. I honestly can’t believe it’s STILL such a gem. There’s such a good energy from the staff, nothing pretentious about it, wall-to-wall vinyl, and so well priced.
This place is a proper record store. pleaseneverchange

“A veritable treasure trove of old and new”

A great place to spend some time and get reacquainted with that vinyl experience. Shaun has a wealth of knowledge and will always do his utmost to see that your needs are met. A veritable treasure trove of old and new with a bit of the obscure thrown in for good measure. Drop in and absorb the atmosphere. You won’t be disappointed.

2. Rhubarb Records

Website

Address: Shop 5/851 Albany Hwy, East Victoria Park

Contact: 0493 121 337 | [email protected]

Hours: Monday–Friday: 10 AM–6 PM, Saturday–Sunday: 10 AM–5 PM

Rhubarb Records is an East Victoria Park favourite for collectors who like their vinyl hunts with a bit of variety. Since 2013, the shop has bought and sold new and used records alongside CDs, tapes, books, memorabilia, and vintage hi-fi.

Beyond the crates, there’s plenty for anyone refreshing a home listening setup. Turntables, replacement styli, and record-care accessories make it easy to sort the hardware while you’re chasing another pressing.

Meanwhile, sellers with larger collections can ask about Rhubarb’s call-out service, which takes some of the hassle out of moving bulky lots. That broad buying scope makes the shop handy whether you’re downsizing, trading, or starting fresh.

The catch is that weekend trading finishes at 5 PM. Late-afternoon crate digging can feel a bit rushed if you’re heading over after other Saturday or Sunday plans.

Pros

  • Buys and sells new and used vinyl
  • Stocks CDs, tapes, books, memorabilia, and vintage hi-fi
  • Carries turntables, replacement styli, and record-care accessories
  • Offers call-outs for larger collections
  • Open seven days a week

Cons

  • Weekend trading ends at 5 PM, which can limit late-afternoon visits

“Communication was fast and friendly”

Great experience ordering from Rhubarb Records! Even though I am in the USA and they are based in Australia, communication was fast and friendly. Because of how accommodating they were with my order, I ended up buying 6 LP’s. Marcus was super helpful and quick to reply to my emails. And they shipped right away. Awesome customer service, definitely recommend and hope to visit in person one day!

“Always found the owner honest, dependable and trustworthy”

A real walk-in record store with a wide range of new and used records. Mostly records with some CDs and tapes. Very pop-culture aware shop and owner, especially with the renewed interest in old-school formats – you can even buy blank tapes! Prices are excellent. I’ve been a customer for a while and always found the owner honest, dependable and trustworthy. Definitely a must-visit if you’re into vinyl.

Website

Address: 7 Spring Park Rd, Midland

Contact: (08) 9250 5656 | [email protected]

Hours: Monday–Saturday: 9 AM–5 PM, Sunday: 10 AM–3 PM

Midland Records is a fun one-stop rummage for anyone who likes vinyl with a side of retro décor. Sharing its Midland space with Midland Vintage means you can browse records, furniture, and collectables without changing shops.

The business has been buying and selling vinyl collections since 1997, covering both small lots and bigger clear-outs. Even better: sellers can be paid in cash, which keeps the process refreshingly straightforward.

Beyond the records, you’ll find handy extras like styluses, sleeves, turntable mats, cartridges, and cleaning gear. That mix makes it easy to sort a few playback essentials while you’re crate digging.

The only issue is Sunday’s shorter 3 PM closing time. If you’re planning a weekend browse, an earlier start will give you more time to dig properly.

Pros

  • Shares its space with Midland Vintage for records, furniture, and collectables
  • Buys vinyl collections of different sizes
  • Offers cash for collections
  • Stocks styluses, sleeves, turntable mats, cartridges, and cleaning gear

  • Sunday trading ends early at 3 PM

“An incredible range of records from so many genres”

An incredible range of records from so many genres, including vintage, second-hand, some new old-stock, and many new releases. Also of note are the many Japanese imports like anime soundtracks, video game soundtracks/orchestral arrangements and Japanese artists. Wish I knew about this place before heading to Japan to get my soundtracks.

4. Urban Records

Website

Address: 117 Oxford St, Leederville

Contact: (08) 9201 2500 | [email protected]

Hours: Monday–Saturday: 10 AM–5:30 PM, Sunday: 10:30 AM–4:30 PM

Urban Records is a handy Leederville stop for vinyl fans who like their records paired with proper playback gear. After two decades on Oxford Street, the shop has built a strong mix of fresh pressings, turntables, cartridges, styli, and other audio essentials.

We like how, if a title isn’t sitting in the bins, staff can help source it! That’s useful for harder-to-find releases.

Meanwhile, brands such as Rega and Pro-Ject give shoppers options from beginner-friendly setups to more serious hi-fi upgrades.

That mix makes Urban Records especially useful if you’re building a system rather than just adding another LP to the shelf. It’s a practical one-stop browse for records and the gear that keeps them sounding their best.

However, the main con we see is on the selling side. Urban Records doesn’t buy classical records or 78 RPM shellac, so those collections will need another home.

Pros

  • Stocks vinyl alongside turntables, cartridges, styli, and other audio gear
  • Carries brands such as Rega and Pro-Ject
  • Can help source records that aren’t currently in stock
  • Suitable for both entry-level and more advanced hi-fi setups
  • Long-running Leederville presence

Cons

  • Doesn’t buy classical records/doesn’t accept 78 RPM shellac discs

“A genuine gem of a vinyl record store”

This is a genuine gem of a vinyl record store that sells a wide variety of music, but they also sell a vast range of gifts, record players and other merchandise.

The staff are attentive and helpful, and we successfully purchased a record player there. They were patient in explaining to us the different models – overall, we had a great experience and would recommend it for music enthusiasts.

“Guided me with patience and trusted expertise”

One of my favourite stores in Perth. Exceptional service from Andy, Sean and the team, guided me with patience and trusted expertise to get my dad’s old turntable working, and they know their music. I’ve become a loyal customer. Highly recommend.
