Pros

  • Award-winning architectural firm
  • Popular for both architecture and interior design
  • Limits accepted clients for better personalisation
  • Transparent about their processes

Cons

  • May be unable to respond quickly
  • Doesn’t service commercial businesses

Robeson Architects is among the leading interior design and architecture firms in Perth that we recommend. From the get-go, we’re in awe that numerous design and lifestyle magazines have featured their designs, which have won awards!

We also like that their architect told us they aim to make ‘supremely livable homes’ that are both useful and fun. This shows us that they care about providing balance in functionality and aesthetics.

Additionally, we appreciate that this firm is very open about its processes, which are described on their website.

Just note that for now, they only work with residential homes. They haven’t grown big enough yet to meet the demand for architects in the commercial sector, in our opinion.

To concentrate their resources and services on their ongoing tasks, they also only accept a limited number of clients each year. We feel that this limits their availability and makes sure that they give each customer a personalised service.

Previous clients told us they only expressed appreciation for their creative work, but a few mentioned some conflicts they had years ago.

Some of their customers had problems with them because they weren’t able to immediately respond to complaints or concerns they sent.

But should you be interested, you may reach Robeson Architects 5 days a week, except on weekends.

Pros

  • Can handle almost any project
  • Knowledgeable about council heritage policies
  • Efficient with any size of land they work on
  • Offers lots of insights and recommendations

Cons

  • Might experience delays at times
  • May service too many clients at once

Philip Stejskal Architecture (PSA) is another one of our suggested architecture firms in Perth because they aren’t afraid to take on challenging tasks.

We love that their team can provide their services regardless of various limitations. They try to work with any budget, available space, or physical layout of the land.

For us, this means that almost no project can be too much trouble for them, and that they accept almost any type of client.

Also, because PSA knows how the council’s heritage policies work, we commend them for being able to get projects approved when some clients worried they wouldn’t.

In our opinion, they seem proactive when dealing with clients too! With their big portfolio, they’re able to provide recommendations beyond the client’s original vision.

But even if most of their projects run smoothly, they occasionally run into construction delays as well. They do their best to assist clients in resolving any problems they may have, though some problems are just unavoidable.

If you want to give them a try, you may reach Philip Stejskal Architecture (PSA) from Mondays to Fridays.

Pros

  • Skilled in personalising solutions
  • Makes fun and creative styles
  • Environmentally friendly
  • May accept online consultations

Cons

  • May cater more to luxury homes
  • Might require first discussion to be on-site

One of our favourite architecture firms in Perth for residential homes is Seamus Ryan Architects.

Apart from coming up with brilliant ideas, their customers told us they liked the way they worked together to develop original solutions.

Custom building and design are the areas of expertise for Seamus Ryan Architects, so we also believe you can get unique outcomes from them.

Actually, building on sites with unusual shapes or those that present a challenge from neighbouring properties are some of their most memorable undertakings too!

Thus, this firm seems to be skilled at negotiating with neighbours and local councils, in our opinion – they’re usually able to secure approval and bring beautiful designs to life.

Plus, we love that they take great pleasure in producing designs that are sustainable – one of their projects even received a sustainability rating of 9.5!

But if you’re on a tight budget, you might want to look for another firm because their emphasis seems to lean toward luxury houses.

Should you want to give Seamus Ryan Architects a go, note that the first meeting with them is typically in person. But if needed, they also take online appointments.

Pros

  • Credible with many awards
  • Open-minded about most budgets
  • Diverse clientele and portfolio
  • Regularly reiterates or explains their processes

Cons

  • May limit themselves to servicing old, luxury homes
  • Available an hour longer than several others

Case Studio is one of the architecture firms we feel confident about, since they’ve won a lot of awards for their smart designs.

Their portfolio also looks diverse enough that we think they don’t confine themselves to one particular aesthetic. They seem to approach each project according to their own design philosophy to meet the clients’ unique requirements.

We know that budget constraints and sustainability standards are obstacles to every task. However, this firm takes clients who are even on a tight budget, so anything seems possible with them, in our opinion.

Moreover, Case Studio creates concept plans for commercial buildings in addition to residential ones. They seem to take on more clients than several other architecture firms in the city.

For us, their customer support is also good since they communicate well with clients. This shows us that they’re committed to giving knowledge and direction at every turn, which avoids big misunderstandings from occurring.

However, we feel they may not be the best choice for everyone since they focus heavily on luxury and historic houses.

If you want to give them a call, Case Studio seems to be conveniently open an hour longer than the average Perth architectural company.

Pros

  • Over 35 years of experience
  • Eco-friendly and sustainable
  • Uses a practical approach with clients
  • Can provide a referral to other firms

Cons

  • Offers limited slots
  • Might be unable to service everyone

For us, the excellent work of Suzanne Hunt Architects (SHA) benefits from their more than 35 years of industry expertise.

They seem to be a well-rounded firm, in our opinion. SHA is a niche architecture and interior design firm that focuses on residential, heritage, hospitality, and mixed-use architecture.

We also appreciate that nature is a big factor that influences their work. They build homes that are both environmentally and financially sustainable, so that the house can improve lives for years and decades to come.

But what we like best about this firm is that they take a client-centred strategy. SHA doesn’t have its own design style or set of guiding principles and instead focuses on what the client wants.

They also take the time to hear what their customers have to say and approach the process as their creative path. We’re glad that customers can participate however much they want in every project.

And if it turns out that neither side is a good fit, we applaud the fact that Suzanne will be happy to suggest someone else you can speak to! We don’t think many firms are helpful enough to do this.

Nevertheless, they only accept a limited number of customers at a time. So if their schedule is already booked, they might not be able to accommodate you anymore.
