We chose The Back and Neck Bed Shop because of their 20-year run.

Their variety and quality also influenced our decision. The size range includes king, split, and queen, while the brands offered, like MLILY, aren’t no-namers, with perks like built-in fans and zero gravity to boot.

We weren’t boxed into a single mattress option either, unlike other stores. Plus, their in-house occupational therapist gave us advice on which bed and mattress combination would work best for our conditions.

As for delivery, we received the goods in about 10 days. Perth’s typical range is 5–10 days.

We just wish their in-store and online prices match up; the latter often displays cheaper tags.

It’d also be great if their hours stay consistent. We once visited during their posted open hours, only to find shut doors.

‘Easy to find and ample parking. We dropped in to get new pillows, btw, it’s the best place to get the ‘right’ pillow for you. We’ve been in the market for a split king adjustable bed and until we walked in, the best quote we had was $12,500. These guys were able to supply a superior product, Western Australian made, and for under $6000! We also were very happy to find our dream recliners; separate motor for the headrest, separate motor for the lumbar, separate motor for the footrest, separate motor for the standup support. Beautiful chair comfort and aesthetics all for $2500! It may sound like alot, but it’s an investment in body support and style, we’re very happy wih our choices. Staff were helpful, friendly and importantly knowledgeable and in no way pushy. If you don’t go, you’ll never know. Thank you ladies you’re brilliant.’

If you’re hunting for bargains, Bedworld is worth a gander. They run regular discounts on adjustable beds and mattresses, often chopping off between 29% and 35% from the usual price.

There are also bundle deals, like a ‘bed+mattress’ package that’s usually cheaper than buying separately.

One thing to note, though, is that they’re fully online now. That’s a plus for convenience, but a con if you prefer in-store browsing and live demonstrations.

That said, their phone support isn’t dreadful. Anand was especially great in explaining every item’s features—warranties and accessories included.

The only serious headache is delivery. While the same-day option is a plus, a few customers have received items with chips and markings likely knocked about in transit.

Otherwise, they’re a ripper choice for buyers of 100% Aussie-made adjustable beds, which have some unique specs. One we really appreciate is the ‘memory saver,’ useful for saving favourite positions.

She came the Tuesday and we were fortunate enough to have our split queen Electric bed delivered on that Thursday. Debbie in the office was an absolute delight to work with getting everything we needed delivered in a timely manner and so friendly such an asset to this company. The bed itself has proven to be worth every cent making especially my life so much easier after fracturing a vertebrae in my back. Our stop at Bedshed was more than satisfactory. The in-store staff, especially Adele, patiently worked with our budget and even dropped some handy saving tips.

The showroom’s range is massive, too. Reliable brands like Kingsdown and Tempur dominated the stock, available in around 3–6 sizes.

When it comes to the prices, they’re on par with Perth’s standards. We even spotted some bases for just $1,049.

Deals for both the online and physical stores frequently roll out as well. The cuts are normally between 20% and 50%.

In fact, one of my workmates nabbed a Tempur base last April for $1,499 instead of its original $2,898 tag.

Unfortunately, the phone support wasn’t as impressive as the one in the brick-and-mortar Midland branch. The rep we spoke to sounded rude and uninterested.

Not every model also qualifies for their same-day or express delivery perk, although the free assembly bonus normally applies to every product.

‘On Thursday night, my partner and I needed to buy a mattress for the very first time and we had a lovely staff named Kim. She was very experienced with what comfort we needed in the bed and had great conversations with her. And also bought a nice cooling pillow with the help of Kim again. Gotta tell you, she’s a pro. Now, on Saturday afternoon, partner and I needed a bed frame. Went straight to Bed Shed at Midland again and browsed around for a Lift Up for our King Sized mattress.
